PLACE has had a long standing relationship with Cascade Bicycle
Club, and has completed several projects for them. In 2006, CBC
made a proposal to the City of Seattle to take over the historic
fire station at Sand Point, and turn it into a hub of cycling
community activity. Offices for CBC would overlook community space,
training rooms, and a cafe. People would come for workouts, coffee,
bike fittings, and other cycling related services. The Cascade
Bicuycle Club would offer safety seminars, packet pickup for events,
and base their advocacy work here. Ultimately, most of these services
have found homes at Sand Point, but the firehouse renovation was
never completed.
